First dates can be a tough cookie for everyone, and at times could be wrecking your nerves ending with anxiety. It is pretty normal to get all fidgety when it comes to first dates. Some people are particularly bad when it comes to first dates, much worse than other people do. But, straightforwardly speaking, it is not as difficult as you think it is. All you need might be a few first date tips and you are good to go.
So, what should you do?
You don’t have to be a CEO of big companies to know the extension of first impression. Nevertheless, first impression is important and somehow contradictory. Therefore, the quest for balance will begin at this phase.
- It is better to meet your date out and drive yourself to the meeting place. Besides having to worry of what you should say and talk about in the car, you would not have to worry about your safety. Why? Well, he won’t know where you live and it’ll be a real trouble if he or she turns out to be a stalking nightmare after the date. Yikes!
- You really don’t have to spend hours thinking of what you should wear. Here’s the simple guidelines: Do Not Experiment. Some people tend to wear something that they may have not wear normally and in the end it’ll all turn out with a bad first impression and you wouldn’t dare face the mirror the next morning due to self-procrastinate.
- Besides that, avoid wearing anything too low cut or short. However, you can still be sexy. A little cleavage and leg is okay but you want the air-filled mystery that would keep him wanting more. He will take you at face value and you don’t want to give the wrong impression.
- Treat yourself with manicure and pedicure. You might never know you would end up walking hand in hand along the beach or something like that.
- Don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes and go easy on the perfume. Consider using a mouthwash before the date. Bad breath can be a real spoiler, if not fatal.
- Points for the men; be precise about where you are going and the activities. Being in lead should earn you a bonus point but be very careful not to sound like a controlling and selfish brat. So, you should first ask what your counter part thinks about it. Points for women; be honest and true to yourself. If you don’t like the idea, try to compromise into something that’s balance and both of you enjoy. It’s best to be casual. By the way, it will help to make the date more comfortable and could avoid your date from wearing a dress when you’re actually taking her for an outdoor activity.
- You should also take note about your date’s eating habits. You wouldn’t want to end up at a place where she couldn’t find anything there to order because she’s allergic to them. Bummer.
- If you so happen you are the one who is not paying for the meals, be considerate of what you order. You should try staying in the middle of the price range.
- So, what should you talk about? First of all, you should keep the conversation light and casual and be sure to be extra tentative to what the other is saying. What makes a person an interesting conversationalist is to ask about others. Perhaps about their hobbies, work life, sports, family and other topics might as well sprout from there.
- Keep the date simple. You’re nervous enough without making a big show.
- Last but not least, you should just have fun and MOST importantly: be yourself!
